Monitoring Platform Specialist (#183)

The Monitoring Platform Specialist is accountable for the management of web applications monitoring including the management of tools, monitoring instrumentation, setup of monitoring processes including escalation flows, and providing state of the art monitoring into our operations.

Our Mission is to revolutionize the way we approach monitoring by switching from reactive to proactive monitoring with proper tracking of metrics, events and logs, and the introduction of business intelligence analytics to achieve a holistic management approach to our applications performance.

• Development and Management of Application Monitoring
• Maintenance of our Business Application monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Jenkins/Selenium, Splunk, etc)
• Development and enhancement of monitoring
• Instrumentation of Monitoring tools for application monitoring & Integration with Incident Management Processes
• Management and execution of monitoring processes
• Development of visualization, analysis and escalation of monitoring alerts
• Build Operational Intelligence around monitoring in the form of real time automated dashboards
• Automation of the Monitoring Processes
• Reduce and avoid unnecessary false alert
• Monitoring Tracking and Documentation
• Documentation of monitoring processes
• Tracking/Inventory of monitoring coverage across tools and applications
• Evaluation of the quality and level of coverage of monitoring to identify opportunities
• Consolidate and simplify tools and/or monitoring processes for all three entities: ALJ, ADJ, and ADL

Job qualification         

• Experience using application monitoring and data analysis tools desirable (Ex: Dynatrace, Splunk, Jenkins)
• Solid understanding of large-scale web-based systems, network architectures, monitoring and fault management
• College degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 2+ years of experience working in IT related technical areas
• Specialized training or work experience in web-based system development or system monitoring
