Project Manager – Commission Systems Transformation (#557)

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a critical workstream within a large-scale Life Platform Modernization program. This role will focus on simplifying commission and compensation processes, migrating legacy applications from mainframe systems to a secure and scalable cloud environment, and supporting the decommissioning of outdated platforms. This is a unique opportunity to drive digital transformation within the life insurance sector, improving operational efficiency, agility, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end project planning and execution for a designated modernization workstream
• Define and drive migration and process simplification strategies for commission and compensation systems
• Oversee progress tracking, monitoring, and reporting to senior stakeholders
• Manage change initiatives, including user training and adoption strategies
• Engage with business, technical, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency
• Coordinate with external vendors and partners to deliver project milestones
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while ensuring quality standards are met
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and industry standards

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field; PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is preferred
• Minimum of 8 years of project management experience, including at least 3 years leading complex IT transformation programs within insurance or financial services
• Proven experience in mainframe-to-cloud migration projects; experience in life insurance is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of insurance systems, particularly commission and compensation processes
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and migration best practices
• Knowledge of the Japanese regulatory environment related to insurance systems
• Fluency in Japanese and strong professional proficiency in English
