Job description
The Lead Data Architect ensures the Data & AI Architecture aligns directly with overall business strategy maximizing return on IT investment while reducing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). You will define and govern modern cloud data architectures (Lakehouse, MDM, AI/GenAI, Agentic Workflows, Analytics) across all Lines of Business (Life & Non-Life Insurance).
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory & Governance: Assist the Chief Architect on critical data decisions. Define, maintain, and evolve Target Data Architectures and Blueprints. Enforce architecture governance to ensure convergence across IT initiatives.

Architecture & Solution Design: Design end-to-end modern data capabilities (AWS, Azure, Databricks, Lakehouse) and advanced AI patterns (GenAI, RAG, Agentic AI).

Tribe & Squad Enablement: Work closely with Domain Architects and Product Owners to translate user stories into optimal, scalable solutions. Provide hands-on guidance to developers while driving asset reuse to eliminate duplication.

Transversal & Enterprise Alignment: Support cross-organizational IT programs and bridge strategic capability gaps during planning cycles.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Technical Expertise

Experience / Certification: TOGAF certification or 8+ years of hands-on data architecture experience.

Data Management: Expertise in enterprise data modeling, data lifecycle management, metadata, and data security (masking, encryption, privacy/GDPR/PIP compliance).

Modern Cloud Data Platforms: Strong knowledge of Cloud Data Platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks), ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, and Data Lakehouse architectures.

AI & Advanced Analytics: Deep understanding of modern AI solutions, including Generative AI, RAG architectures, Agentic AI, and BI/visualization tools.

Domain Knowledge: Solid grasp of the insurance value chain and domain-specific data modeling.
