Cloud Platform Infra Specialist (#553)

Role Overview

As we continue our digital transformation to enable first-class software engineering and operations, we are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Cloud Broker Team. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with Development, Operations, and Infrastructure teams to align cloud best practices across the organization.

You will have the opportunity to work in a community leading our digital shift, leveraging exciting technologies including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), container orchestration, and automated software delivery pipelines.
 

Key Accountabilities

• Cloud Architecture: Define and suggest improvements for cloud architecture and processes.

• Infrastructure Management: Configure, set up, and maintain a secure, standardized cloud infrastructure.

• Automation & Scripting: Create automations, scripts, and self-service capabilities for engineering teams.

• Tool Administration: Manage internal and shared tools, including user/group permissions.

• Production Support: Lead escalated outage resolutions and provide production support.

Specific Activities

• Platform Delivery: Provide a secure, standardized Cloud Platform to ease application building, deployment, and maintenance.

• Automation: Automate resource lifecycles (creation, listing, maintenance, deletion).

• Self-Service Enabler: Set up self-service catalogs and products for engineers to deploy standard resources.

• Cost Optimization: Create tools to monitor platform costs and drive optimization initiatives.

• Tooling Administration: Manage shared engineer tooling (configuration, access control, maintenance).

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with software, QA, network, and DB engineers to streamline environment builds and drive efficiency.

• Incident Management: Lead troubleshooting for escalated outages, driving root-cause analysis (RCA) and permanent fixes.

• Knowledge Sharing: Author and maintain documentation for on-boarding and on-call engineering guidance.
   

Required Skills & Experiences

Experience & Background

• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience administering cloud or infrastructure services across a large, diverse enterprise environment.

Technical Skills

• Public Cloud: Strong knowledge of major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation: Hands-on experience with Terraform, ArgoCD, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

• Containers & Orchestration: Strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Mesos.

• CI/CD & Developer Tools: Proficiency with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, OpenShift Pipelines, Jira, Confluence, and Artifactory.

• Scripting & Development: Experience in automation/scripting (Shell, Python) and familiarity with programming languages (Java, Node.js).
