Job description
We are seeking a Security Assurance Specialist responsible for technically investigating and verifying that security requirements defined during system and infrastructure design are properly implemented. The role focuses on assessing and validating security controls such as network segmentation, encryption, privilege management, and data protection mechanisms to ensure compliance with internal standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to identify gaps, assess vulnerabilities, and ensure that remediation actions are effectively implemented and validated.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify that security requirements are correctly implemented across systems and infrastructure.
- Conduct technical security assessments on controls including network segmentation, encryption, privilege escalation prevention, and data masking.
- Identify, analyze, and evaluate security vulnerabilities and configuration gaps.
- Assess the severity and business impact of security findings and prioritize remediation actions.
- Provide clear, actionable recommendations to improve security posture and control effectiveness.
- Support implementation of remediation measures and perform re-validation and continuous monitoring.
- Ensure systems and processes comply with applicable security standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Prepare detailed documentation of findings, remediation status, and risk assessments.
- Deliver regular reports and communicate security status to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure effective resolution of security issues and adoption of best practices.
- Contribute to the development of security improvement strategies, including implementation planning and resource estimation.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in security assessments, security audits, or penetration testing.
- Strong understanding of security principles, vulnerabilities, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Hands-on experience evaluating security controls such as encryption, IAM/privilege management, and network security.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS.
- Ability to evaluate technical issues and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities.
- High integrity and strong commitment to confidentiality and security best practices.
- Self-driven mindset with continuous learning attitude toward evolving security threats.
- Business-level English and Business Japanese required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CEH, Security+, OSCP, or equivalent.
- Experience in enterprise-scale security environments or regulated industries.
- Hands-on experience with security tooling, vulnerability scanners, or SIEM platforms.
