Software Application Development & QA Lead (#523)

The team is responsible for ensuring high-quality software delivery within the life insurance industry while continuously pursuing greater business value through faster and more efficient delivery processes. Beyond maintaining quality standards, we focus on improving delivery speed, operational efficiency, and overall customer value. To support increasing business demands across multiple departments, we are seeking an experienced professional who is passionate about software quality, agile delivery, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

• Estimate testing efforts based on requirements and testing strategies, and develop and continuously update test plans throughout the project lifecycle
• Select appropriate testing methodologies and approaches based on defined testing strategies, including test types, techniques, automation, and tools
• Participate in product backlog review meetings and requirement review sessions to clarify user stories and requirements from a tester’s perspective at an early stage
• Design test cases with expected results for each requirement and define tasks necessary for test preparation and execution
• Identify and execute system integration test scenarios and test cases based on the testing strategy
• Review system test cases and test results provided by developers or external vendors
• Manage and document identified defects and issues using communication channels and defect management systems
• Provide regular test progress reports and status updates to stakeholders
• Promote test automation for application regression testing and maintain reusable test cases and automation scripts
• Collaborate with the team to define which tests should be automated, at which level, and using which tools
• Conduct project retrospectives and contribute to continuous improvement through PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycles

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of experience in software development or software testing
• 5+ years of project experience within the life insurance industry, including software development or testing
• 3+ years of experience in test automation using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar technologies
• Experience leading development or testing teams in projects or software maintenance environments
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent practical experience
• Japanese language proficiency at JLPT N2 level or above
• Knowledge of life insurance business processes and insurance products
• Business-level English communication and reporting skills
