Job description
AWS Infrastructure & Operations Engineer with strong bilingual communication skills to support, optimize, and scale mission‑critical cloud environments. This role is ideal for a hands‑on AWS expert who can design, operate, troubleshoot, and continuously improve cloud infrastructure while collaborating closely with global and Japanese stakeholders.
In this position, you will lead AWS infrastructure engineering, ensuring high reliability, performance, and security of cloud-based workloads. You will also support operational excellence, automation, cost optimization, and cloud governance in a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- AWS Infrastructure Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure AWS environments (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS, CloudFront, etc.)
- Implement IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK
- Support network architecture, routing, VPN, Direct Connect, load balancing, and security groups
Operations & Reliability
- Monitor cloud performance, availability, and system health
- Implement observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, etc.)
- Troubleshoot production issues and lead root‑cause analysis
- Ensure effective backup, DR, patching, and compliance processes
Security & Governance
- Enforce AWS security best practices and CIS/NIST/ISO27001 controls
- Manage IAM privileges, guardrails, and multi‑account structures (AWS Organizations, Control Tower)
- Support audits and compliance initiatives
Automation & DevOps Collaboration
- Develop automation for provisioning, deployment, and scaling
- Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, CodePipeline)
- Contribute to cloud cost optimization and FinOps improvements
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years experience in AWS infrastructure engineering or cloud operations
- EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, EKS/ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront
- Network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancing)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
- Linux systems administration and shell scripting
- Monitoring & logging tools
- Experience with security hardening and cloud governance
- Strong troubleshooting and incident‑response capability
- Knowledge of DevOps tools (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes)
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps, DevOps Engineer)
- Experience with multi‑account enterprise AWS environments
- Kubernetes experience (EKS)
- Understanding of ITIL, security frameworks, or compliance programs
- Experience in large-scale enterprise IT operations
