Cloud Platform Specialist (#508)

Our client are seeking a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain a secure, scalable, and efficient cloud environment. This role involves close collaboration with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to drive automation, improve system reliability, and support modern software delivery practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and design cloud architecture aligned with best practices
• Configure, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure
• Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline operations
• Administer and maintain internal engineering tools and platforms
• Manage users, roles, and access control across systems
• Provide production support, including incident management and resolution

Core Activities

• Build and maintain a standardized, secure, and efficient cloud platform to support application development and deployment
• Develop automation solutions for provisioning, managing, and decommissioning cloud resources
• Enable self-service capabilities for engineers through service catalogs, automation tools, and reusable templates
• Create and maintain tools to monitor cloud usage and optimize costs
• Administer shared engineering tools, including configuration, permissions, and ongoing maintenance
• Collaborate with software engineers, QA, operations, infrastructure, network teams, and DBAs to improve productivity and streamline workflows
• Lead incident response for critical production issues and ensure root cause analysis and resolution
• Recommend architectural and process improvements to enhance system performance and reliability
• Contribute to documentation for onboarding, knowledge sharing, and operational support

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing cloud or infrastructure services in a large-scale enterprise environment
• Strong understanding of infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker
• Knowledge of container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift, Mesos)
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, ArgoCD)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js)
• Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Shell, Python)
• Solid knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Familiarity with developer tools (e.g., GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, OpenShift Pipelines)
