System Analyst (#491)

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Systems Developer to support the back-end system components of products sold through our direct channel. The role involves development, maintenance, and operational support of our in-house contract management system and related applications.

You will be responsible for:

• Development and maintenance of in-house contract management and other related systems.

• Analysis, investigation, and basic design for system development projects, including requirement gathering, design reviews, coordination with user departments, and UAT support.

• Production environment support, including handling user inquiries and investigating/resolving system issues.

Note: You may perform tasks directly or act as a liaison/manager between vendors and end-users, depending on the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

• Conduct basic system design and participate in various review processes.

• Coordinate with internal user departments and external vendors.

• Provide UAT support and assist in testing activities.

• Support production environment operations, including troubleshooting and incident resolution.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of development experience with mainframe systems (COBOL).

• 5+ years of experience with IBMi (AS/400) or z/OS.

• 5+ years of experience in design and development of life insurance systems.

• Native-level Japanese proficiency is required.

• English proficiency is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Development experience in the following environments:

  • Middleware: MQ

  • Database: DB2

• Experience with LIFE/J system is highly preferred.
