Translator – Technical (Bilingual with Travel Readiness) (#402)

We are seeking a skilled bilingual Translator to support our engineering and IT initiatives with high-quality language services. This role involves both written translation and live interpretation for technical discussions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Japanese (N2/N1), possess familiarity with PLM concepts, and be open to travel within Japan as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate technical documents and test scripts from Japanese to English and vice versa.

• Interpret live technical discussions and meetings in both languages, ensuring clarity and accuracy.

• Review machine-translated content and refine it using domain-specific (PLM) terminology.

• Author well-structured and concise test scripts in Japanese.

• Support communication between offshore teams, internal business units, and Japanese customers.

• Be available to travel to client locations within Japan when required.

Required Qualifications:

• Japanese Language Proficiency: JLPT N2 or N1 (spoken and written).

• Prior experience interpreting and translating in technical or engineering contexts.

• Residing in Japan for at least the last 6 months with a valid work visa.

• Familiarity with IT systems and engineering workflows.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in software testing or PLM tools.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in cross-functional, bilingual teams.

• Flexible and adaptable with a customer-focused mindset.
